Universal Design in education
The Bevica Foundation works strategically to promote and support knowledge about Universal Design within education.
We collaborate closely through strategic partnerships with a range of design schools and universities to spread awareness of universal design and to help create attractive and inclusive learning environments.
This work also ensures that Denmark lives up to its commitments under the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, which we ratified in 2009. The convention obliges participating states to undertake or promote research and the development of universally designed products, services, equipment, and facilities.
Our educational partnerships include the following:
- The Royal Academy - Architecture, Design, Conservation
- Technical University of Denmark
- Design School Kolding
- AAU Innovation - Aalborg University
We have gathered a range of initiatives and projects from our educational partnerships here on this page for inspiration. Some of the examples that stem from our collaborations with educational institutions are highly practice-oriented and can also be found here.
All of these examples are also available in our extensive knowledge library, where you can engage with our AI assistant to explore and deepen your understanding.
The Bevica Scholarship Programme creates new knowledge and cross-disciplinary collaboration
The Bevica Foundation's Bevica Scholarship Programme unfolds across three phases — the ideation, creation, and investigation phases. The programme includes cross-disciplinary teaching initiatives, the awarding of research and education grants, and the dissemination of knowledge about Universal Design in an interdisciplinary context.
