A Hub Full of Knowledge
Since 2020, the Universal Design Hub has shared knowledge about universal design and the relationship between universal design, the UN Sustainable Development Goals’ cross-cutting principle Leave No One Behind, and an inclusive view of humanity.
The Universal Design Hub is a central part of Bevica Foundation strategy. Building on Denmark’s commitments under the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD), the goal is to make Universal Design a fundamental premise in the way Danish society is organised — by no later than 2050.
We Gather Knowledge
The Universal Design Hub facilitates and generates research-based knowledge about universal design — among other things through Bevica Foundations Research Network.
Bevica Fonden’s interdisciplinary Research Network consists of researchers who all work with the value-based concept of Universal Design within their respective fields. Each member has been carefully selected for their expertise.
Interdisciplinarity is key, as universal design cannot be advanced within a single discipline alone. The members of the Research Network represent a wide range of fields that shape the frameworks of everyday life — including the built environment, IT, educational practices, the labour market, media, design, product development, and leadership.

We collect knowledge
As part of Bevica Foundation, the Universal Design Hub investigates and generates new knowledge about universal design — including through the Bevica Scholarship Programme.
Every second year, Bevica Fonden invites students and educators from the country’s universities, university colleges, and design and architecture schools to participate in the Bevica Scholarship Programme.
The aim is to explore how professionals across different disciplines can develop universal design as a lever for advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly the Leave No One Behind agenda, while also supporting Denmark’s commitments under the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
The Bevica Scholarship Programme is conducted entirely in English.

We share knowledge
At The Bevica Foundation and The Universal Design Hub we are committed to sharing the knowledge we have. That’s why we take an active part in conversations and are always happy to share our insights.
Bevica Fonden creates the framework for knowledge sharing and dialogue about universal design. The Universal Design Hub gladly participates in these conversations or connects you with relevant experts, helping to spark new ideas and solutions based on knowledge about universal design.
We do this because we believe the best results are achieved when we collaborate and share knowledge.
