The Bevica Foundation and the City of Copenhagen have entered into an ambitious partnership that runs from 2024 to 2027. Its purpose is to integrate the principles of universal design into the strategies, policies and practices of the municipality. The goal is to create a more inclusive city in which all citizens -- regardless of physical or cognitive prerequisites -- can participate on equal terms.

As project manager for this partnership, Louis Mølsted Andersen plays a key role in coordinating and implementing initiatives that promote the understanding and application of universal design in the work of the municipality. His efforts focus on ensuring that universal design becomes an integral part of the municipality's decision-making processes and urban development projects.

The partnership includes, among other things, the development of masterclasses and workshops for civil servants and politicians to strengthen their knowledge of universal design and its importance for the development of the city. In addition, work is being done to incorporate universal design into the municipality's toolboxes and planning processes so that accessibility and inclusion become natural elements in all aspects of the city's development.

Through this collaboration, the Bevica Foundation and the City of Copenhagen want to set a new standard for how cities can be developed with a focus on inclusion and accessibility. Integrating universal design into the work of the municipality creates a framework for a city where all citizens have the opportunity to participate and contribute to the community.
