The National Building Fund

A strategic partnership between the Bevica Foundation and the National Building Fund aims to contribute to consider universal design as a basic principle in the transformation of the social housing sector of Denmak, in our cities and in all other aspects of the public housing sector.
One million people live in social and public housing in Denmark. It's home to many different people and fulfils an important task in providing housing for people with very different needs, as well as conducting social efforts.
Because of that, there is great societal relevance and considerable potential in ensuring the continuous development of solutions that are varied and flexible in the social housing sector, so that the homes and surrounding areas offer an equal, good and safe environment at all stages of life and for all people, regardless of functional capacity.
This potential is put into play in a strong partnership between the National Building Fund and the Bevica Foundation.
The Bevica Foundation's Universal Design Hub's research network contribute into the partnership with knowledge and competencies in the field of universal design, as well as contributing to translating a more diverse view of the human in to actions related to the renovation and construction of the homes in the sector.
The partnership will contribute to the continuous building of knowledge of universal design impacting the development of homes, communities and cities.
Through the partnership, a number of research projects will be launched with the aim to bring universal design from theory to practice.
In addition to this, The National Building Fund has been an active partner in the Bevica Foundation's work to bringing in universal design in public conversations.
