“Instead of talking about accessibility in the classical sense, we should instead focus on mobility”

Ole B. Jensen is a professor at Aalborg University and affiliated with the Department of Architecture and Media Technology. He is working on a 4-year research project entitled 'Dark Design — Social Exclusion in City Spaces' that deals with exclusionary design towards homeless people. The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2024.

Homeless don't feel welcome in city spaces

‍ Grates set at an angle and armrests in the middle of benches, so it is impossible to use them as a sleeping place. “The space of the city does not meet the needs of the weakest citizens, and this is a democratic problem,” the professor said.
