Young people with disabilities: “The disability forces us to ask for help”

What are some of the challenges faced by people with disabilities in everyday life? That question must be considered when designing and furnishing the framework of the life lived, but for many it is a blind spot.

Through interviews with three young people with various disabilities; muscle wasting, brain damage and blindness, we gain insight into the challenges and barriers you can face if you have a body that falls outside the norm.

“If you do not have blindness close to life, or late brain damage or other functional impairments, then it is quite natural not to know what it is,” says Kenneth, who lives with blindness due to an illness.

The film produced by DTU Skylab through the partnership Technology Leaving No One Behind in collaboration with the Association of Young People with Disabilities (SUMH) and Danish Disability Organizations (DH).
