Bevica Foundation and Parasport Denmark in new top partnership: “We use sport to talk about our common framework”

The parasport is an important lever to create positive awareness of what the body can do when the frames are right. The Bevica Foundation and Parasport Danmark enter into a new top partnership.

The Bevica Foundation and Parasport Danmark will enter into a new top partnership with PL in Los Angeles in 2028. The goal is to bring more attention to the parasport and universal design such as drivers for a more equal and inclusive society.

On the one hand, the partnership aims to strengthen opportunities for people with disabilities or special needs to play sport and participate in enriching social communities, and at the same time, it is an important part of the partnership to create a broader conversation about how to create a better framework for a more inclusive society. In addition, parasport can be a lever, says Thomas Sinkjær, Head of the Bevica Foundation. Therefore, he is also looking forward to cooperation.

- Sport can help to show how far you can actually drive it if the framework is right. In some cases, sport has some particularly good framework conditions compared to many others, and in Denmark we are particularly challenged that we still have to see the overall political system set a clear agenda in the field of disability. I am absolutely sure that this partnership can help to focus on just that,” says Thomas Sinkjær, who is backed by Chairman John Petersson of Parasport Danmark.

- We can let sport be the starting point to change the world to a more equal world for other individuals too. We are very pleased that we can participate, through our many role models and ambassadors, in this work together with the Bevica Foundation.

Strategic Focus on Los Angeles 2028: A Springboard for Conversation and Action

The partnership has a particular strategic focus on using the Paralympic Games in Los Angeles 2028 as a platform to raise awareness about the challenges faced by people with disabilities in their daily lives.

- Through sport, we can help make a difference for people outside the world of sports as well. We will have the opportunity to show how sport has an impact in many areas. Not only on the health and health of the individual, but also as a driver to influence the environment, explains John Petersson.

Thomas Sinkjær complements:

- We are particularly pleased with this partnership, partly because we help support some of the best para-athletes we have in Denmark, and partly because we can set a very important agenda in the public eye; namely, how we can become better at including everyone with the use of universal design.

Through the partnership, the parties will work to raise this issue on the national agenda and with an ambition to create lasting solutions.
