DTU students develop inclusive bar for Folkemødet
A group of DTU students were invited to Folkemødet 2025 to test new products that they have developed on the basis of workshops and courses at the Technical University of Denmark. The students behind Inkluderbar have had a special focus on the dissemination of their mobile bar.
Includable is a portable bar that moves after its customers. Especially those who do not have the opportunity to queue for a bar themselves - or perhaps even have difficulty reaching the bar counter and therefore need help ordering.
The transportable bar consists of a trolley specially designed by the students for Carlsberg's Flex 20 system for draft beer, which makes the system transportable and thus allows serving draft beer to more people.
But much of the work on the concept behind Inkluderbar has been particularly involved in branding, says Ellen Kirstine Riegels Østergaard from Design and Innovation at the Technical University of Denmark. Among other things, through conversations with members of the Association of Young People with Disabilities (SUMH), the students have tried to learn how best to market themselves, so that they reach the target audience without stigmatization. Not everyone has positive associations with the disability sign and the sunflower cord, she says.
'That's why we've tried to land a balance where we have clear communication, but where at the same time we try to accommodate some of the people we'd like to represent through our bar. '
The project is rooted in the foundation's partnership with the Technical University of Denmark, but in close cooperation with Foreningen Folkemødet and the Association of Young People with Disabilities (SUMH), which are also in partnerships with the Bevica Foundation.
You can read more about the Foundation's partnerships in the Partnerships menu at the top of the page.
The development of Inkluderbar has been created with funds from the legacy of Leif Aage Hansen.
