The Inclusive Urban Space — TOGETHER

Urban space should be for all of us

With knowledge, creative installations and debates, the project 'TOGETHER' will focus on universal design and the possibilities it offers to create an urban space where there is room for everyone.

Designers and architects are key players in the Bevica Foundation's ambition to make universal design a cornerstone of societal development in the future. It is they who greatly shape and develop the physical environment and urban spaces that we use every day.

In the project “TOGETHER”, the Bevica Foundation works closely with the Royal Academy's Department of Building Art and Design, the Lonely Old Men's Værn Foundation, the Health Foundation and the Culture and Leisure Administration of the City of Copenhagen.

The ambition of the project is partly to equip designers and architects of the future with knowledge about universal design, but it is also a goal of the project to create reflection and conversation among the population about how the city framework constantly helps define who has the opportunity to participate and who does not. This will be done, among other things, through a series of exhibitions and debate events around Copenhagen and as part of Folkemøe 2024.
