Camilla Ryhl is research director at the Bevica Foundation and head of the Universal Design Hub.
She is a trained architect and based on her PhD degree in sensory impairments and residential architecture, she initially specialized in universal design and sensory architecture. Since then, she has further specialized in the interpretation and operationalization of the concept of universal design, especially from an interdisciplinary perspective.
Her commitment to accessibility and universal design, and the global perspectives associated with it, is reflected in her many international activities, including as a member of various national and international conference committees, professional networks and working groups.
She has previously been a researcher and lecturer at Statens Byggeforskning Institutt (SBi) /BUILD and in 2010 became the Nordic region's first professor of Universal Design at Bergen School of Architecture (BAS) and is considered a leader in her field under the Nordic auspices.
