The Bevica Foundation and the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) have entered into a multi-year partnership under the heading “Technology Leaving No One Behind”. This collaboration aims to integrate the principles of universal design and inclusion in technological innovation, education and entrepreneurship. The goal is to ensure that the technological solutions of the future are accessible and usable for everyone, regardless of individual requirements.
A key player in this partnership is Ingrid Haug, innovation consultant at DTU Skylab. With a background as co-founder of Design Matters and founder of the UX studio Usable Machine, she brings extensive experience in user-centered design and inclusion. Her role involves developing and implementing tools and methods that promote inclusive design practices among students and startups at DTU.
The project focuses on integrating the principles of universal design into DTU's education and innovation environments. This includes the development of teaching courses, workshops and events to inspire students and entrepreneurs to think inclusion into their technological solutions. An example of this is the holding of workshops during Folkemødet, where participants work with universal design in practice to create more accessible and inclusive solutions.
Ingrid Haug's work in this partnership is critical to fostering a culture where technological innovation goes hand in hand with social responsibility and inclusion. Through her efforts, she is helping to shape a new generation of engineers and designers who are conscious of the importance of creating solutions that are accessible to all.
