Universal Design and Accessibility at Folkemødet

The public meeting should be for everyone - regardless of the physical starting point.

The Bevica Foundation and Foreningen Folkemød have entered into an ambitious 5-year project collaboration, where together we will create a People's Meeting where there is room for everyone, and where universal design is the starting point for everything we put into the lake until 2028.

The ambition behind the collaboration is to create an equal and democratic festival with room for all, where universal design becomes the basic principle with an inclusive human vision when the People's Meeting runs its course.

The People's Meeting is a platform that brings together those who shape the framework for lived life for a conversation about our common society. These are politicians, business leaders, NGOs, citizens, government officials and anyone with an interest in debating current trends, issues and how to create a sustainable society.

An advisory board will be attached to the project, which will continuously review efforts, assess international efforts and ideas, and ensure professional knowledge about the implementation of universal design. The Advisory Board consists of Peter Christiansen, Director of Folkemødet, Marianne Kofoed, Director of the Bevica Foundation and other relevant parties such as Ditte Rejenholdt Rudolfsen, Head of Secretariat of the Association of Young People with Disabilities and Søren Møllgaard, superintendent of Egmont Højskolen.
