A better functioning flexible job market
How can we create a more efficient flexible job market?
A research project should make recommendations on how to create a more well-functioning flexible job market.
A research project will investigate what conditions promote and inhibit the hiring and retention of people in flex jobs. The researchers will make recommendations on what can be done to enable more people with disabilities to be employed in flexible jobs, to be treated equally and to maintain their place in the labour market. The project is carried out by the Research Centre for Disability and Employment and in collaboration between a research group from Aalborg University, VIVE — The National Research and Analysis Centre for Welfare and VIA University College. The project is based on research the group's knowledge from a previous research project on disability and employment funded by Bevica Foundation. Here, the researchers concluded that flexible jobs have become the most important way for people with a mobility disability to enter and stay in the labour market. Being able to contribute to society is one of the cornerstones of the Bevica Foundation's DNA, and throughout the foundation's history, the focus has been on strengthening individual skills and alleviating disability. From the beginning, it has been about self-sufficiency and thus autonomy, independence and equality.
