Mia Høj Mathiasson is Assistant Professor at the University of Southern Denmark. She holds a PhD in Information Studies from the University of Copenhagen. She researches the social and societal role of public libraries, especially in relation to sustainability and social inclusion, as well as the proactive role of librarians in social innovation and sustainable development. She is currently affiliated with the International Research Project UPSCALE: Upscaling sustainable collaborative consumption using public libraries, which is supported by the Research Council of Norway. She is also a member of the research group PubliB for Refugees Research Group, which focuses on the public libraries' programs and offerings for Ukrainian refugees.
