The Ambassadors

The Bevica Scholarship Programme Ambasadors are united in their commitment to strengthening diversity and inclusion in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the guiding principle Leave No One Behind.

The Ambassadors come from a diverse range of disciplines and areas of expertise and have been carefully selected to promote the Scholarship Programme across their respective sectors.

Meet the ambassadors

Professor, ph.d., dr.techn. and President of DTU
Anders Bjarklev

"At DTU, we create technology for people – all people. To achieve this, we need diversity – diversity of people and of disciplines. When we develop solutions that are essential for some, but inclusive of everyone, we create better solutions for all.”

Chairman of the Board for amongst others Netcompany and GladTeknik
Bo Rygaard

“In my many years in business, I have often found that we know too little about the enormous potential that lies in working with inclusion. That is why I believe there is still a need for research and development, ideally across disciplines, into this vast untapped potential.”

Impact Manager, International Paralympic Committee
Christian Lykkeby Olsen, PLY

“The Bevica Scholarship Programme is a crucial strategic effort for a more just society, as it cultivates a catalogue of solutions and fosters pioneers across disciplines and fields, which together make it possible for more people to participate in and actively contribute to society, so that fewer are left behind.”

Rector, The Royal Danish Academy
Lene Dammand Lund

“Architecture and design play a major role in shaping cities, urban spaces, and buildings so that they provide well-being and accessibility for everyone. But it is an interdisciplinary task, and the Bevica Scholarship is a valuable opportunity to learn and find solutions together.”

Director of Innovation, AAU Innovation
Mads Bang

"I do not believe it is intentional that we have a society where many people are not properly included – it has simply, and unconsciously, developed that way. But now, there is a need for the next generation to become aware of the mistakes made by the previous one – and to take action to correct them. It is my hope that the Bevica Scholarship Programme can serve as a catalyst for that revolution.”

Head of Secretariat, SAGA
Naima Yasin

“Denmark has already committed itself through the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and the Sustainable Development Goals to leaving no one behind. With universal design, we can make that pledge tangible. We can create frameworks where the community takes greater responsibility, and where the individual is not left entirely on their own.”
