Parasport Denmark

With parasport as leverage, the Bevica Foundation and Parasport Danmark want to create positive awareness of what the body can do when the framework is right, and show how knowledge about universal design can be a means to achieve a more inclusive society.
The prerequisites and setup of the parasport are a mirror of the inequality that exists in society and that people with disabilities are not really equal. But at the same time, parasport has tremendous potential to address inequality and demonstrate the value creation that parasailing holds for society as a whole.
In connection with the 150th anniversary of the 2022 paraatlet, the foundation asked to put into words the role of sport in his life. You can do that here:
The PL in Paris in 2024 reached further than ever with more positive attention and enthusiasm than we have seen in the past.
The enthusiasm of the population coincided with the UN's sharp criticism of Denmark and thus the political unwillingness to comply with the Convention on Disability and thus recognize people with disabilities as equal citizens and athletes.
The fact is that Parasport Danmark is allocated far less funding to support PL athletes than Olympic athletes receive. At the same time, there is still a disparity in the possibility of participation in general sport and its communities. Participation is, at the same time, an important prerequisite for sprouting potential new para-athletes.
Therefore, the Foundation entered into a strategic cooperation with Parasport Danmark as a top partner.
In the partnership, we are working to seize the ball from the president of the International Paralympic Committee, who, on the occasion of the opening of the PL in Paris 2024, proclaimed, precisely thou doctor would be the start of a “The Inclusion Revolution” - inclusion revolution.
The partnership must set the stage for the conversation about ableism, universal design and the Paralympic effect.
The partnership agreement runs until 2028.
Please follow this page, where we will continuously update with news from the partnership.
