In 2023, Copenhagen bore the title of World Capital of Architecture and hosted the world's largest architecture congress.

UNESCO designated Copenhagen as the capital of architecture in 2023, in line with the UIA 2023 World Congress of the International Association of Architects, which was held in July of the same year. The Bevica Foundation entered into a partnership with the City of Copenhagen, which organized the World Capital of Architecture campaign: Capital of Architecture 2023.

During the entire year of architecture, events, projects, activities and events were held in all 12 boroughs. The collaboration helped to qualify that as many as possible were thought of in universal design and thus created experiences and activities that were accessible to all. This was done through inspiration and workshops.

The cooperation around Capital of Architecture 2023 became the basis for the development of a long-term partnership between the Bevica Foundation and the City of Copenhagen, which was established in 2024.

During the spring, a number of world goal pavilions shoot up along the harbour course in Copenhagen and at selected locations in the city.
