Thomas Østergaard’s research focuses on how design and business education is evolving in an era of volatility and the Anthropocene, and how these changes can help create stimulating and equitable environments for everyone.

Thomas has a particular focus on the designer’s role as a change agent and on how Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) can be integrated into design and business.

His current area of interest is the application of universal design in both education and practice within design and business, from teaching methods to professional outcomes.
