Bodies in Spaces: Inclusion at Danish Architecture and Design Education
In the doctoral project entitled 'Bodies in Spaces: Inclusion at Danish Architecture and Design Education', architect and PhD student Christine Bjerke investigates how the education of architects and designers in Denmark works with an inclusive view of people. In the form of a historical and contemporary mapping of approaches to pedagogy focusing on the human vision and the human body, it is the ambition that the project can contribute new knowledge. In addition, the project will examine both Danish and international best practices in relation to inclusive views of people in the training of architects and designers. In the future, the project will design prototypes for further development of pedagogy and teaching methods and test these in a Danish context. The project is supported by the Bevica Foundation and Realdania and is based, among other things, on the UN Convention on Disability. The project is carried out at the Cluster for Spatial Inclusion at the Department of Building Art and Design at the Royal Academy — Architecture, Design, Conservation.
