Psychology in Fashion: How Psychotherapeutic Tools Can Be Incorporated into Fashion Design to Support Mental Health
Mental health affects everyone; either we experience it first-hand or through someone we know. Clothing is one of our basic needs, involved in most people’s everyday lives. Therefore, Mirabel De Guzman looks into how clothing can be designed to support individuals living with anxiety, depression, and related conditions in their daily lives.
Through research visits to the University of Michigan and McLean Hospital, she will examine how fashion can go beyond aesthetics to become a tool for mental health support, combining functionality, comfort, and emotional well-being.
