Reworlding Collective Design Decisions: Universal Design, Indigenous knowledge systems, and collaborative design pedagogies in Landscape Architecture
Universal design has been largely framed by Western decision-making models, which often prioritize individual access solutions rather than relational,community-driven, and adaptive design.
Anne Margrethe Wagner's project investigates how Māori (New Zealand) and Sami (Northern Europe) governance traditions can inform universal design approaches for teaching of co-design and participatory planning in Denmark’s landscape architecture curricula.
She will carry out her research at Luleå University of Technology (Sweden), UiT The Arctic University of Norway/Academy of Fine Arts (Norway), University of Technology Sydney (Australia), RMIT University (Australia). Toi Rauwhārangi and College of Creative Arts at Massey University (Aotearoa, New Zealand).
