This research focuses on universal design and its role in shaping inclusive, sustainable cities. More precisely, Julia Trier Olesen investigates how universal design can contribute to cohesive, human-centered urban environments that integrate nature, promote biodiversity, and ensure accessibility for all.
Focusing on cities in Poland, Sweden, and the US, she explores how inclusive urban design can better serve diverse user groups, including people with disabilities and other vulnerable communities, by creating sustainable, accessible, and nature-integrated public spaces.
