Inclusive Cities for The Mind: Rethinking Public Space for Cognitive Inclusion

Urban spaces are often designed for the neurotypical majority, leaving people with dementia, cognitive challenges or other neurodivergent conditions struggling to navigate and participate in daily life. Sebastian plans to investigate how cities can better accommodate cognitive and sensory diversity through universal design that promotes dignity, mobility, and social connection.

Sebastian will conduct his investigation at Simon Fraser University and Happy Cities DEMSCAPES project in Vancouver, learning from the methodology of mapping and working with invisible boundaries for people with cognitive challenges.
